IBPS PO 2017 : Recruitment Notification, Exam Dates, Syllabus

IBPS has released the notification for the recruitment of Probationary Officers 2017-18. IBPS has introduced some major changes this year in its Mains Exam Pattern. However, the examination pattern for the preliminary exam is still the same. This year IBPS will also conduct a descriptive test of English Language (Letter and Essay Writing) along with the mains exam. Now the structure is very similar to the mains pattern of SBI Exams. Reasoning and Computer sections are clubbed and there are changes in the name of subjects as well as the number of questions and weightage of each section.

IBPS PO 2017

The Institute of Banking Personnel Selection (IBPS) is an organization that helps in assessment and selection of an individual for various organization at different posts. IBPS PO Exam inspects an individual on the base of Speed, Accuracy and Confidentiality in all its activities. IBPS provides its service to all Public Sector Banks, SBI, Associate Banks of SBI, RBI, NABARD, SIDBI, few Co.op.Banks, LIC & Insurance companies Regional Rural Banks, many Public Sector Undertakings of Non-financial sectors, Government Departments, State owned companies and Corporations also avail its services. Some major universities and reputed Management institutes engage IBPS regularly for conduct of their “Admission Tests”.
IBPS conducts recruitment drive for Probationary Officers and Clerical Cadre once a year. IBPS has released it calendar for the year 2017, according to which it is expected that the official notification for IBPS PO 2017 will be out tentatively in July’17.

IBPS has notified the notification for the recruitment of Probationary Officers. IBPS PO 2017  is going to be an opportunity for many of those who are preparing for making their carrier in banking sector.
IBPS PO 2017 Vacancy

IBPS has released notification regarding the post of probationary officer/management trainees. There are total 3562 vacancies for IBPS probationary officer/management trainees. IBPS vacancies also have reservations under various categories will be as per prevailing Government Guidelines at the time of finalisation of the result.

IBPS PO Salary
Approximate salary of bank PO is 35,000 – 40,000 and it may vary bank to bank. And other allowances as may be admissible under the rules in force from time to time in the company. Becoming a probationary officer in a public sector bank is a brilliant opportunity to start a promising career in banking sector.

IBPS PO 2017 Exam Dates
Institute of Banking Personnel Selection (IBPS) conducts examination for the post of Probationary Officers (PO) and Clerical Cadre every year. IBPS will take CWE-VII for Probationary Officers as an Online exam in two parts:
1. IBPS PO Preliminary Exam
2. IBPS PO Mains Exam

Note: All participants who will successfully register himself / herself in PO VII firstly have to fight with (Preliminary) Pre exam and Shortlist candidates in Pre examination will be called for Mains Exam and then further shortlist candidates called for a Common Interview to be conducted by the Participating Organisations and co-ordinated by the Nodal Bank. Marks scored in mains exam will be decided for short listing for interview.

The Hugo Award for Best Novel 2017 was given on Friday to Nora K. Jemisin, an American speculative fiction writer for her work ‘The Obelisk Gate’.
The award was presented at the 75th World Science Fiction Convention in Helsinki.
The awarded book was the second in the trilogy that started with ‘The Fifth Season’, which was New York Times Notable Book of 2015 and won Jemisin the Hugo Award for Best Novel in 2016

With the $2.4 billion it just received from Japanese technology and telecom giant SoftBank, Flipkart has become the third most funded private company globally.
The homegrown e-commerce company has to date raised almost $7 billion in capital, higher than that raised by global behemoths like online house rental aggregator Airbnb ($3.3 billion) and mobile phone maker Xiaomi ($1.4 billion).
The top two are both ride hailing platforms — Chinabased Didi Chuxing and USbased Uber.

3. Govt. launches national anthem video in sign language

Union Minister of State for HRD Mahendra Nath Pandey, on Thursday, launched an Indian National Anthem video in sign language, featuring differently-abled and partially differently-abled children.
Directed by filmmaker Govind Nihalani, the three-minute video features Bollywood actor Amitabh Bachchan along with physically challenged children performing the anthem in sign language with the Red Fort in the background.

4. Gujarat govt to give ‘Namo’ tablets to 3.5 lakh college students

Around 3.5 lakh college students in Gujarat will get tablets at a subsidised rate of Rs 1,000 each under a state government scheme launched by chief minister Vijay Rupani in Ahmedabad on Friday.
Under this scheme, the first year college students in the state will get 7-inch ‘NAMO E-Tab’ tablets, which have a market value of Rs 8,000 each, by just paying Rs 1,000.

5. Trump appoints Chatterjee to chair energy commission

The White House said on Thursday that President Donald Trump had appointed Neil Chatterjee as chair of the Federal Energy Regulatory Commission.
Last week the Senate confirmed Chatterjee and Robert Powelson as members of the FERC, restoring a quorum to the agency. Chatterjee had previously been an energy policy advisor to U.S. Senate Majority Leader Mitch McConnell.

6. Centre to exempt Tamil Nadu from NEET

In what could be much-needed respite to the State government, Union commerce and industries minister Nirmala Sitharaman said the Centre is willing to consider TN plea for Neet (National Eligibility cum Entrance Test) exemption for a year for government medical colleges alone but ruled out permanent exclusion from the national level eligibility test.

Government sources on Sunday denied reports of China building a bridge in Ladakh.
Earlier a report said on Sunday China was building a bridge in the no man’s land in Ladakh.
“The report that China is building a bridge in Ladakh is wrong,” a government source said.
The source also denied any fresh aggression from China.

8. Canara Bank rolls out two digital products

Canara Bank has launched two digital products: ‘Bharat QR’, a platform for payment settlement at merchant locations, and Bharat Bill Payment System, an integrated bill payment system for Net banking customers.
Launching the products, Rakesh Sharma, Managing Director and CEO, said the “bank is always poised for a digital revolution and has begun to offer scores of digital payment products/platforms to enhance customer convenience by reducing cash transactions.”

9. Banks exploring use of artificial intelligence in operations

By adopting Artificial Intelligence and Machine Learning, some banks have automated operational processes, resulting in cost reduction and faster turn-around time.

10. India’s first aviation university to be inaugurated on Aug 18

Chief provident fund commissioner V P Joy has said that From next month, employees’ PF account will be transferred automatically when they change your job provided they have linked heir Aadhaar number with PF account.
Joy, who is pushing a slew of initiatives in the Employees’ Provident Fund Organisation (EPFO) to make it more worker-friendly, said premature closure of accounts was one of their main challenges, and they were trying to address it by improving services.

2. Davinder Singh Becomes 1st Indian To Qualify For Javelin Finals

Davinder Singh Kang became the first Indian to qualify for the final round of the javelin throw at the World Athletics Championships while his more fancied compatriot Neeraj Chopra crashed out in the qualification round.
Competing in the qualification round Group B on Thursday, Kang, who was carrying a shoulder injury, cleared the automatic qualification mark of 83m in his third and final throw as he sent the javelin to a distance of 84.22m.

3. Chinese satellite sends ‘hack-proof’ message

First time in history


China has successfully sent “hack-proof” messages from a satellite to Earth for the first time.
The Micius satellite beamed messages to two mountain-top receiving stations 645 km (400 miles) and 1,200 km away.
The message was protected by exploiting quantum physics, which says any attempt to eavesdrop on it would make detectable changes.
Using satellites avoids some limitations that ground-based systems introduce into quantum communication.

5. Bank of England refuses to change animal-fat banknotes

The Bank of England said on Thursday it would not change the way its new plastic banknotes are made, despite concerns among some vegetarians and religious groups about trace amounts of animal fat used in their production.
The BoE said the only alternative for its polymer banknotes was to use more expensive chemicals derived from palm oil, and that its suppliers were unable to commit to using only palm oil produced in the most environmentally friendly way.

6. Oxford launches Tamil, Gujarati online dictionaries

After the Hindi version, Oxford University Press (OUP) has launched online dictionaries in Tamil and Gujarati as part of its special focus on Indian languages.
The Oxford Global Languages (OGL) initiative began in September 2015 with an aim to build dictionaries and lexicographical resources for around 100 of the world’s languages and to make them available online.

Prime Minister Narendra Modi addressed District Collectors across the country via video-conference on Wednesday on the theme of “New India – Manthan,” which according to him is aimed at catalysing the country and the people at the grassroots level. The programme was launched on the 75th anniversary of Quit India movement.
The Prime Minister said the Centre wants every individual, each family and organisation to set goals to be reached by 2022. He said the district collectors now have to decide where they want to see their districts in that year.
